Social network gardener…
I’ve come to enjoy the emerging, and now growing, social side of the internet. Compared to when I first connected to a small network via modem, the transfer of ideas and information has never been easier all thanks to social networking.
With the increasingly easy flow of viable information via social networks also comes an increase in garbage in the form of spam and non-informative or null content.
To be honest I don’t mind if someone twitters what they are planning to have or have had for lunch. Many times that has given me an idea of what to plan as an upcoming meal. And I don’t mind sharing goofy posts or things that may be of interest on Facebook. I often get this weird expression on my face and make this odd sound at some of the things posted, I think the term for this occurrence is laughter.
I believe in quality over quantity. It’s one of the reasons I have around 100 people that I am following on twitter. I could follow more, but I rarely follow someone whose posts consist of re-posts of other users meaningless rambling which makes keeping up with interesting topics hard. And I really don’t see the point in some of the apps on Facebook. If I don’t accept an invite to Farm Whatsit or Mob Whateveritis, it’s nothing personal to those sending me invites, I just don’t see the point in it or disagree with the terms required to use an app.
So, if I don’t accept an invite to an app or my twitter numbers drop, I’m weeding my social networking garden.
Thanks

Making time, music, and memory.
Although work has taken the primary amount of my time this last week. I still had some to refine a project that has been nagging at me for months to sort out what I felt was something askew in the way it sounded/felt. I sequence by feel and sound for the most part, and something didn’t feel right so I did a bit of tweaking and rearranging and it just sort of jived.
Here it is.

I got in some keyboard tonight and for once remembered to record some of my putzing around with, and tweaking patches in the various software synths I have.
I couldn’t recommend doing this more than when you are just messing around with whatever instrument you play. You never know when you hit on a sound, riff, sequence or part that you will remember later on and wish you had recorded/saved to aid in bringing what could be an awesome tune to life. For me it’s my mixer patched into one of my computers running audacity for on the fly recording.
Glad I did, the next snip is a rough bit that gave me some good ideas, a few more tweaks are needed though, but I now have a sonic reference to remind me what it is I wanted to do.

Don’t Get Around Much
It’s been far too long since I’ve posted anything, and to be honest I haven’t had any items really worthy of posting since my time has been consumed with work for the most part.
I have been working on some music when the fancy strikes me though.
Here’s an incomplete sample of a current project I’ve been tinkering with.

Sort of Sarsippius Ark inspired, at least that’s what first came to mind as I’ve been working on it.
I’ve also been scouring audio sites to create another amalgam of odd sounds like I did with T74, some of which came from a few pc games I used to play.
I will note that I will no longer be found on Myspace. It’s become pretty much useless to me due to it being a slow loading heap of code fail.
Till next time. Thanks for stopping by.
Scott E.
